Leadership Coaching
"Helped me go deeper in my discovery of what I can change and what I can’t.”
I was intrigued by Innovative Leadership Solutions holiday special that was posted on LinkedIn that included the Townsend Personal and Relational Assessment Tool (TPRAT) followed with four debrief coaching sessions and a customized leadership growth plan. I wondered what we would talk about. After my first session with Naomi, I was blown away by the depth of personal discovery and new awareness just through the debriefing of one leadership capacity. As she partnered with me in unpacking my results, I was able to come up with action steps to further strengthen my leadership capacities that were integrated into my daily life. I’m excited for more growth and development with Naomi continuing as my leadership coach!
The Leadership Coaching covered four areas (Bonding, Boundaries, Capability, and Reality) in which I thought there would be nothing that we would uncover in these sessions. To my amazement, Naomi was able to help me discover that there were some areas of my life and leadership where I was holding my thoughts captive. As an introvert, I tend not to let people know that I am struggling with issues in the workplace. I needed to share those with someone and to come up with a game plan for how I can address them. Naomi asked questions that helped me go deeper in my discovery of what I can change and what I can’t.
One area that we uncovered is a disagreement with a coworker that I have. This is the result from one of the sessions I had with Naomi. As a result, I will contact him after our session to set up a time that will focus on building a relationship and checking in on how he’s doing. I will put my coaching hat on by asking questions, being curious, and demonstrating empathy (putting myself in his shoes). I will strive to see him with Christ’s eyes. Although he isn’t a Christian, I can demonstrate His love, care, and concern. I believe this will also help our working relationship. Most importantly, focusing on the relationship could have life-lasting and eternal impact.
I know that you too will find that by connecting with Naomi and discovering what is holding you back will be revealing and help you to take the action you need to take.
Thank you Naomi for the confident and thoughtful questions that helped me to arrive at meaningful outcomes that I have taken since our sessions and the concise leadership growth path you provided.

“Helped me identify positive next steps.”
Naomi Stohlmann is a gifted coach. Through Naomi's insightful questions, and keen listening, she helped me identify key issues in my life and work. Through her direction, I was able to identify positive next steps and start moving confidently toward my future goals. Naomi both championed and challenged me to walk consistently toward these goals. I am grateful for Naomi's coaching in my life and leadership.

“Her ability to unlock my ideas and goals were uncanny as well as finding ways to unlock my vision for the future.”
I began working with Naomi as I transitioned from a longtime employee of 21 years of a 501 c3 non-profit organization into the position of Executive Director. Her ability to unlock my ideas and goals were uncanny as well as finding ways to unlock my vision for the future. This allowed me to stretch myself further while gaining perspective on leadership. I have experienced improved conversations and deepened relationships, both professionally and personally, by learning how to attune and ask more open-ended questions. Naomi would always assist me on discovering solutions to my current situation both individually and as an organization. As a person of faith, it was wonderful to have her include that component into our discussion and provide coaching using the Townsend Model. Naomi’s ability to infuse Innovative Leadership Solutions was extremely professional but she also found a way to connect at a personal level. I would highly recommend her for your individual or team professional development, she will not disappoint!
~Dawson Blanck (Executive Director at Minnesota Youth Athletic Services)
“She was both challenging and supportive.”
Naomi is a wonderful facilitator and I learned a lot from our time together. She was both challenging and supportive throughout the process. Each member of our team benefited greatly by understanding that each person has different strengths and weaknesses. It allowed us to examine how we do things and gave us the opportunity to put people in positions where they could be successful. I am very confident that your team would benefit from bringing Naomi in to meet with your staff.
~Jeremy Innes (Associate Director-Operations at Minnesota Youth Athletic Services)
“Now I see how I can contribute to strategic conversations.”
Meeting with Naomi was energizing and encouraging. With what is important to me, I learned how to think differently about my strengths, abilities, and strategy. Strategic thinking is something I left for others to do and now I see how I can contribute to these conversations in the future.

“Guidance and development has been invaluable.”
As an athletic director early in my career, the guidance and development with Innovative Leadership Solutions has been invaluable in helping me navigate challenges both large and small as well as hone my vision for myself and my department. The experience has been transformative and I’ve undergone personal, professional, and spiritual growth in a way that I didn’t believe possible.
~Regan McAthie (Director of Athletics at Concordia University-St. Paul, MN)
“What I appreciated the most was Naomi’s ability to balance encouragement with honesty
Naomi helped me define my goals and develop the confidence to start working toward them. Her bubbly, warm personality made every session a joy. But, what I appreciated most was her ability to balance encouragement with honesty. She never hesitated to call me out when I was stuck in self-defeating thoughts, and her candor helped me see where I was holding myself back. Thanks to her guidance, I feel closer than ever to achieving both my personal and professional goals. I’m so grateful for her support!

“Shaped my coaching and our culture.”
Being coached by Naomi was a great experience. Naomi is very knowledgeable but has the unique gift of being able to share that knowledge in a way that makes you feel valued and comfortable. She uses questioning in a non-judgmental way that makes you feel comfortable as you explore your own tendencies. Naomi is very client focused and makes the coaching all about them, not her, which is awesome! She was able to help shape my coaching and our culture in an impactful way.
~John Carrier (Head Boy’s Basketball at Coach Nova Classical Academy , MN)
“I have grown into a better coach and person.”
Naomi is genuine and very knowledgeable. She listened intently, met me where I was at and encouraged me to grow and realize ways I can become a better version of myself. She fostered growth, she never forced it. She gave guidance and nuanced suggestions in areas I wanted to grow. The ideas pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me new perspectives. She asked hard questions that required critical thinking and expanded my ability to come up with multiple solutions and not settle for my first answer, even if it seemed adequate. She strongly encouraged relational growth to enhance all the individual growth I was attempting to do. I can say without a doubt I have grown into a better coach and person through my journey with Naomi!
~Breanna (Girl’s Basketball Coach)
“My professional growth has been taken to the next level.”
Naomi was a wonderful coach and taught me so much about myself. As a young assistant coach just starting my career, she pushed me outside of my comfort zone to help me take the next steps I needed to in order to take my career to the next level. Not only was Naomi a great coach within our meetings, she always went the extra mile to reach out afterwards to see what progress I was making. Thanks to Innovative Leadership Solutions, my professional growth has been taken to the next level and I’m excited to use the skills I’ve learned to continue my personal growth.
~Kayla Yost (former Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Goucher College)
Training Workshops
“Her lessons were tremendously applicable.”
Our athletic staff at Concordia University, St. Paul recently had the privilege to experience two of Naomi’s presentations. We benefited from both workshops, and our staff extremely enjoyed her content and lessons, in addition to her Christian approach to leadership. She did an outstanding job of using activities to teach her content and engage our staff. Furthermore, her lessons were tremendously applicable to some of the more important roles I have as a head coach (i.e. difficult conversations). I hope that we can continue to bring in Naomi for further staff development.
Shannon Currier
Head Football Coach at Concordia University-St. Paul (MN)
“Naomi is a great presenter. The focus of this workshop applies to any organization. The best part of this workshop was the inclusion of God’s Word. She has a genuine love for CSP. Her passion came through.”

22 Relational Nutrients: The Fuel to Thrive!
“I think defining relationships and the parts that make them more successful is useful for all of us. The most memorable part of the presentation were the video examples where the four quadrants of relational nutrients were used.”
“The 4 Quadrants were great and relatable. Made me question my decisions and helped my relationships.”
“I liked the visual of the quadrants and I loved the hands on interactions that we got to do. I loved her information and I felt that I was able to relate it to my own life.”
“It showed me to be a different person when talking with other people.”
10 Elements of a High-Performance Culture
“Our team has never felt more connected.”
She has facilitated three interactive workshops for the Concordia University , St. Paul athletics department and has also served as my personal coach. Our coaches and staff have benefitted greatly from the workshops she conducted and have continued to implement elements from those workshops into their respective sport team development. The most recent event she did with us provided incredible insight into the current strengths and weaknesses of our department and has led to continued discussion and progress on naming and owning the values that define our department. Our team has never felt more connected and invested in our path forward together.

How to Build Meaningful Relationships in a Hybrid Workplace
“Like the meaning of her name, Naomi looks 'above all' facets of leadership to create a foundation of meaningful connection with and between members of her audience. By building an atmosphere of trust through vulnerability and space for experiential learning, participants are able to grow and move from isolation and overwhelm to thriving in today's marketplace.”
